$35 per hour, four hours of studio time per week – This is our flagship program. Join a band, rehearse, record, and write songs in our state-of-the-art Protools studio. Develop your music further by performing the songs live in top-notch Toronto music venues. This unique and life-changing experience allows students to progress musically in the same way that great bands have developed their sounds over the decades. Recording music in a professional sound studio and hearing the finished songs played back over professional studio monitors is both inspiring and humbling. It provides young artists with an in-depth understanding of what works and what needs work. Consequently, it inspires practice and self-improvement. Developing musical ideas into meaningful tunes leaves students with living artistic creations that stay with them for the rest of their lives in the form of finished songs. These songs can be professionally released on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and more. The challenges and obstacles faced during the process of creating and releasing original music provide participants with much more than an education in music; it becomes an education in life. Students find their voice in the process. Human creations and self-expression, be it music, film, visual art, theatre, architecture, sculpture, fashion design, or literature, make life interesting. Not only do students who participate in this program benefit from developing their own creations, but the songs they create also touch the lives of the people around them: their families, friends, and the entire community.
