Mjaa Danielson is a recent graduate from Humber College’s Bachelor of Music program, where she had the opportunity to work with musicians such as Jackie Richardson, Pat Metheny, Donny McCaslin, Joe Lovano, The New York Voices, Mark Kelso, and Geoff Young.
Mjaa is active as a freelance performer and composer. Having recently released an EP, she also continues to compose new material for her original project. With over eight years teaching experience, Mjaa has taught all ages, both as a clinician and a private instructor. Her goal as a teacher is to foster passion by encouraging students to play the music they love and to provide a well-rounded approach to learning. Her method in this is to help them explore what might be unfamiliar as a way to stretch their knowledge base and performance/composition skill level.
She looks forward to bringing her expertise and enthusiasm to Beyond the Beat!
